We’ve expanded our living wage program to also increase the wages of the people who make the components that go into your phone, like the battery or the vibration motor. Let’s face it, the production of a new phone emits a lot of CO2. Which is why we build all our devices - including your Fairphone 5 - to last. Designing for longevity means making a device that’s both modular and well-supported. With a long 5-year hardware warranty and an even longer 8-year software support, it’s easier to hold onto your phone for longer. To get better every time, we’re assessing emissions and other environmental impacts of our products in publicly available life cycle assessments. You can find all finished assessments here.
By working with our suppliers
We’ve partnered with our final assembly and battery manufacturers to implement renewable energy for the production of Fairphone 5. But this is not where we stop. By working with our suppliers to set climate targets we stimulate carbon reduction in our supply chain - beyond Fairphone products. We also stepped up our materials sourcing with your Fairphone 5. Inside your phone is recycled aluminum, magnesium, rare earth elements, tin, nickel, zinc, copper, plastics, and for the first time, indium.

We sell Fairphone with /e/OS only in the European Economic Area (EEA). We do not ship to European countries that are not in the EEA, such as Switzerland, UK, Monaco and San Marino.
DOES THE FAIRPHONE 5 WITH /E/OS COME WITH STANDARD GOOGLE APPS, LIKE GOOGLE MAPS?
There are no standard Google Apps on Fairphone 5 with /e/OS. However, /e/OS comes with equivalent, open-source apps to cover your common needs, both personal and professional. There’s a navigation app, a web browser, a calendar app and many more. You can check your email, plan your week ahead, chat with your friends and coworkers, browse the web, check the weather, check your itinerary for your next meeting, and so on, without depending on Google. Having said that, /e/OS is still compatible with all your favourite Google apps, should you want them. You can download them from Murena’s AppLounge. With /e/OS, you get to decide what you want, and what you don’t want. After all, keeping your data private shouldn’t mean one or the other. You should always get to choose.
