Keep up the good work
The product is simple enough to use easy buy developed enough to not be limited. I really love that every part is replaceble so I'm not afraid to use it often, cause I don't need to buy a new one after one thing is broken.

The Fairbuds XL feel very solid and fit comfortably. They pair swiftly with my work laptop and mobile phone at the same time, and switching from one to the other is easy and issue-free. I expected noise cancellation to be more noticeable, but I have never tried noise cancellation before, so I cannot compare it to other headsets. Sound quality is good for podcast and meeting content, which is what I use them for. I love that they are completely repairable, and I expect them to last about FOREVER. I use them every day at work, while cooking, when shopping groceries, and they still show no signs of wear.
I expected the best, but it was better than expected.
The noice-canceling thingie doesn't know what to do with the wind. It doesn't need to be big wind and it gets through badly. Besides that. I love it, but not worth the price.. I would take of 20-50€
I absolutely despise the voice feedback. Please give me the option to turn it into little beeps and boops (or rather disable it completely). Also the startup sound pays 1.5 times and it sounds like absolute garbage. Also the headset turns on when I plug it in to charge and I hate it. Also the BT keeps disconnecting/reconnecting to my Fairphone in 2 device mode. So overall I really hate every part of the software (noise canseling is acceptable though) but I'll still keep it and will probably buy from you again because somehow you're the only ones to make repairable stuff. Please put some more care into software, you're not a hardware only company.
Nice, comfortable and repairable headphones, noise-cancelling is not the best. Firmware upgrades are possible.
Overall nice headphones for the price. Modular and nice looking. ANC leaves a bit to be desired. Wind gives a lot of noise when blowing from certain directions and turning the head will make ambient sounds come through more or less, which can be a bit annoying when listening to music. Other ANC headphones I have used have never had this issue.
Good quality, good comfort, it was a bit expensive but I intend to use it as long as possible: it should be well worth it in the long run.
A bit heavy
It feels very high quality to the touch. The noise cancelling is very good. It is easy to take apart if you look at the tutorial videos.
Any slight touch on the headphones echoes horribly. You can hardy hear anything when it's windy. Expect them to tear off faster than other headphones, althought that is reasonably expected for a modular design.

I love my Fairbuds XL headphones. They are comfy and feel very solid and good quality. I also love that they are made in a sustainable way and if anything breaks I can get replacement parts.
I love it but it can be a bit hard to turn it on and off sometimes, which is fine considering the good battery The joystick is really great for changing songs and volume, and its comfy and isolates well
Very comfortable to wear, execellent audio quality all around, ala in all great value for money
These are comfy and good at what they do. They block out noise well, physically, and also the noise cancelling modes work well. If one mode isn't quite right, I switch through the modes and another mode is usually providing the perfect sound balance. I like being able to control the sound profile through the app. (It'd be nice if they had a description of each of the sound profiles.)

Perfect sound, very comfort comfortable
dual Bluetooth mode glitches sometimes when connected to two devices, e.g. PC and Phone, listening to music on PC and there are audible glitches whenever notifications arrive to phone (Fairphone 3+). Over extended periods of time of wear needs to be repositioned to avoid discomfort. This wasn't the case with Jabra Evolve 75 that I had before.
Overall good but has some flaws. The vegan leather barely breathes at all, leading to sweaty ears quite quickly. The noise cancelling is good in certain environments, but it's not that great at blocking out voices. Finally, the Bluetooth software stack is not ideal, as it's not fully compatible with all versions of bluez on Linux, but this is not too difficult to work around by installing an older version of bluez. This works well with other headphones, so the Fairbuds XL are certainly doing something a little bit out of spec. Some minor notes: - the lack of a 3.5 mm port is an odd omission. I don't think an adapter is a very nice workaround - the battery remaining reported over the Bluetooth protocol and through the app do not match very well. This is quite confusing. In my phone's Bluetooth settings, it currently says 50% while the app claims 30% - Doing a factory reset on the headphones doesn't actually reset the EQ profile, which is strange
Good sound quality
Overall its good
When you buy these headphones, you are making a compromise. You sacrifice quality for fair wages of workers in the supply chain and ecological materials from which the headphones are made, and you gain a product that is easy to repair. Unfortunately, according to my research, the headphones could have a manufacturing defect and are susceptible to breaking the headband base. The ear cups could be a bit larger and versions with different materials could be available. In addition, the fit of the elements could be better, e.g. the headband cover does not fit evenly on the headband. Fairphone is a relatively new brand on the market and still suffers from "childhood problems". An example would be an insufficiently tested firmware update or a poorly selected repair centre (with a lot of bad reviews).
Generally good, but has a few very annoying issues - Short battery life - Very loud sounds for e.g. when switching noise canceling mode. I always have to put them off to change noise canceling due to that. - Noise canceling does not make much of an impact and struggles badly while its windy.

Great Headset, I really love using the Fairbuds XL at work, so I wear them for multiple hours a day for the past couple of days. They are quite comfortable and only after hours I put them off for short time. Really nice. A cool thing would be a hardware mute button either at the headphone itself, or at least at the USB-C to 3,5mm-Jack cable. This would mean 5/5 stars for me :)
Love that it is fair, of good quality, and that I can repair it myself if necessary.
Very happy with these as a replacement for my Bose NC700 which failed after 4 years. I didn't want to buy a third pair from Bose as they didn't last more than 4 years of use. Looking forward to having a longer period of use with my repairable Fairbuds xl
I'm a ridiculously heavy user of headphones. As well as regular use, I often sleep in then to cover the noise of a CPAP machine, as well as daytime use. My last three sets of major-brand headphones have all failed at the vertical-axis hinges. These are very comfortable, and wearable for a long time. They don't interfere with sleep. I've repeatedly worn them for entire days. The slight discomfort of not having a vertical-axis rotation of the ear cups is, I think, a very fair compromise. The noise cancelling seems pretty well alongside my previous xm4's. The battery life just blows my previous headphones out of the water. First time I've had a set realistically at >2 days and nights rather than 7-8 hours. Feeling far more robust and solid than other headphones I've used, and the fact that it's repairable means it should massively outlast them. I'm delighted.

Great headphones, they replaced a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 2's that finally failed at the charging socket after much use. These are a very fine replacement!
Great product, great ethics
They are perfect. Easy to use, comfortable and the sound is great. The noise cancelling mode is quite great too. As someone who's very sensitive to noise, I wear noise cancelling headphones every time I walk outside of my house and I was afraid that it wouldn't work enough for me, but it's exactly what I was searching for. I feel sufficiently shut off from the world to be at ease, and can rejoice in music peacefully. There's one negative point though : the ear cushions are made from leather and I didn't find this information on the website before my purchase. I made this discovery later, while browsing the fairbuds app. The description lacks clarity about this and it's the only thing, in my view, that prevents Fairbuds from being 100% ethical. Many of us value animal lives just as much as human lives :)

Excellent headphones. If you, like me, have large ears, the ear pads might be a bit too small.

While there are some improvements that I'd like to see, the fact that its so repair friendly, outweigh all the small issues, no other company provides such level of repairability, and I'm confident I could get these headphones lasting 10+ years. I'm using them daily for work calls and for gaming, for which they both do a decent job. Not sure about the microphone, since I use an external one.
I would have loved to write a better review, but the ANS was extremely weak when used indoor, and I couldn't get the Bluetooth device to be recognized as headphone/headset under Ubuntu 22.04, regardless whether I used pipewire or pulse audio. On the upside the delivery was fast and the return relatively easy.

Comfy headphones. I mainly use them to watch movies and for video call. Active noise cancelling is good. Price is a bit high, but that is the premium you pay for sustainability and for the modular design.
Bought these after my Beats Solo 3 broke. I feel that the sound quality in Beats was better. Also for me the comfort of the Beats was better. But for me it is really about long-term investment in electronics and the sustainability aspect. The Fairbuds sound great and are cofortable enough, but if you are looking the best value, then these are not for you

Solid, good sound, easy to use. One tiny feature that would be nice to have and I did not find yet in setting would be to control muting/unmuting the microphone. A solid purchase that seems to be able to serve well for long years.

Easy to set up and great sound quality. Noise cancelling works alright. Easy control via joystick. Headphones are quite heavy though but huge advantage is that you can switch out broken pieces yourself! Love that!
Love the noise canceling and the audio! I find myself adjusting the headset from time to time because it gets uncomfortable around the ears, maybe I'd need even bigger over ear pieces (or smaller ears).
The Active Noise Cancelling really works well.
These were a great purchase. We bought them primarily because of the ability to repair and replace parts but the fit and sound quality are excellent, so in the end there was no trade-off :-) Highly recommend and also great to see a company trying to produce electronics that can actually be repaired.
While the ANC can't live up to what's claimed on FairPhone's demonstration videos, the overall sound quality is capable of letting me hear all the details in the music I listen to with a good balance between high, mid and low tones. Calls are perfectly audible, both for me and the person on the other end. That some reviews claim the Earbuds XL are too expensive for their value is incorrect. The competition cuts corners which makes their products too cheap.
The headphones are excellent quality. The fact that the components and materials used are fairly traded goods is vital as I would not have bought them if they weren't. The listening experience is excellent.
I needed some time to evaluate it. All in all, I'm very happy, although It could be more ergonomic when having it on the neck, but my Bose isn't doing better. The Quality is great, but I wish I could turn the speakers 90º to have it take less space. I would also love to have a hard case (as an option) like on my Bose. I'm not sure if the headset could be slightly cheaper because I was happy to spend the money, but some people wouldn't spend so much. I guess maybe you could do a cheaper version with less functionality (not sure). I couldn't find directly the "L" and "R" letters. It wasn't obvious to me what was Left and Right. Also in some cases you can touch the wheel/jog dial without willing to... All in all THANKS for the amazing product. This is why I'm giving a 5-Star in general ;-)
Superb build and sound quality! A little heavy (and tight) for my liking. But they look and sound phenomenal, and the price is worth knowing its supporting a better and fairer world for everyone.
It is a very well designed and built product with the possibility of being repaired by me if needed. I'm very satisfied with it. Hopefully the app will be updated with more featured in the future.

I am higly disapointed, i knew i was buying the product for it's sustenability, but i was expecting it to be all around way better as i won't be using it. First, it's not confortable, it get warm quickly and have barely any breathability. The closed back design, unlike other, make it quite echoy, and any rubbing from your hair or head wear on the plastic will be quite noticeable. The default noise floor is very hard to determine as the device minimal volume is crazy high. On my galaxy note 9 and my laptop the headset won't emit any sound under 9% of volume, like if it was on mute. Then it's immediately slightly higher than my normal confortable listening level. That mean no podcast or calm music late at night for me. (Or with a jack, no volume issue with it, but then why buying this) Sound quality, outside of the mecanical noise, is ok to me, i'm no audiophile. The "sound profile" are very weird... city name, not very explicit and requiere the app to switch ... give user an EQ, not what ever this is. Then ANC... It's a feature on the box... but it's' quite the downgrade ! It does help a bit with whooshing sound like AC, but that's it, it does nothing for noise, talking, city noise like car... and it bring a very high and noticeable hiss or noize. Sadly there are no way to have it disable all the time and it will be back on the next time you turn the headset on. Mic isn't good from what other tell me but it could be a bluetooth generality as i am comming from a modmymic. Finaly, i wanted to order a replacement battery at the same time as the headset to avoid another shipping co2 cost, but they don't have itnon their shop... I will now have to debate betweend the carbon cost of returning it (will it be repackaged or go to the bin ?) Or having it stay in a box for ever...

Excellent product. I know of the company and policy to allow you to fix things so snappped this up as I needed a new headset for calls etc. But it's far exceeded my expectations in terms of quality of build and the sound. The noise cancelling is excellent to. Very happy customer.

The Fairbuds XL headphones are a perfect companion to the Fairphone 4. They deliver high-quality sound and are made from recycled materials, further showcasing Fairphone's dedication to sustainability. These wireless headphones fit comfortably in the ear and offer a good battery life, allowing us to enjoy our favorite music uninterrupted.
The Earphones look awesome and work well with the app and by using the controls on the ear patch. However, I had to send them back because I wasn't pleased at all with the modes for ambient sound (voice through) and active noise cancelling. Both modes are useless outside if there is only the slightest wind. I also tried them in office where I intended to use the noise cancelling for. There was still a lot of ambient sound coming through (keyboard clicks, collegues on telephone calls etc.). The "normal" headphone mode sounded good but I have the feeling that the price is way too high if you can only use them without the two other modes.
