For now everything is going good. The phone arrived on time

The phone detected the mobile data but didn't use it, so I couldn't use it without wifi (useless). Also within the week I tried it, it usually had problems with the tactile response and I had to reboot it a couple of times because it stopped working completely. Support service was slow and useless, still waiting for an answer three weeks later. I had to ask for a return.

A major upgrade from my FP3, hardware wise. The size is the same, but the display has a smaller frame and thus is bigger. One thing that is annoying is the placement of the volume buttons, as they are on the same height as the power button and often when I shut the phone off I make a screenshot instead. Would the volume buttons be 1 cm higher, this would not be a problem. One other thing is that there is no protection glass to put on for the camera on the official shop, would be nice to have.

After 3 weeks of usage I'm very happy with my FP6. Haven't experienced any of the software issues which could be found on the forums - perhaps they've been patched already. System updates have been timely so far. The placement of the volume buttons opposite to the power button is indeed somewhat unfortunate but one gets used to that quickly enough. The build quality of the phone feels great, the case fits well and I find the finger loop super handy for wielding the phone with my small hands. No complaints about connectivity and call quality either. With my admittedly sparing usage (5G always on but WiFi, BT and location toggled on demand... I wish I could assign this action to the yellow switch on the side!) I'm getting on average 3 days on a single charge and I'm happy with that.

I've been using my Fairphone 6 for a few weeks now, and I can say that has nothing to worry when comparing it to my latest LG V40 or Sony Xperia 10 III. Most of all I like the fact that it has only 1 app from Fairphone, the other are all Android's standard. A very good battery and overall durabilty

The reason I bought a fairphone is to fight for programmed obsolescence. My previous Motorola works just fine but haven't received a security update for the last 2 years. The phone itself is ok and I'm happy with it. I just really don't like the speakers sound quality.

Dopo 2 settimane di uso mi trovo bene. Batteria che tiene bene per 1 giorno con uso intensivo. Quasi 2 giorni con uso minimo. Ottima fotocamera. L'ho preso soprattutto per la filosofia dell'azienda. Spero duri nel tempo.

De telefoon werkt wel, maar heeft helaas veel bugs. Het melden van problemen bij de support is niet snel en kost veel tijd, omdat er geen makkelijke manier is om bugs door te geven. Als je de missie van Fairphone wilt steunen, is het een prima keuze. Maar als je op zoek bent naar een betere gebruikerservaring met minder bugs, kun je beter voor een ander merk gaan en maybe bij voorkeur tweedehands.

It's a good phone overall. Quality hardware, nice screen with a well balanced resolution/aspect ratio, good cameras and pretty easy to repair. Expect a few flaws that you will have to live with (mainly software related), they will hopefully be fixed at some point. In my case, calls/video calls on loudspeaker are too loud for my taste, even at the minimum volume, and wifi stops working every few days (a reboot brings it back).

It seems to be a good phone. Works well, looks good, easy to set up and does everything I need it to do. There are a few minor annoyances that will take a bit of getting used to but nothing overly frustrating. Having the volume buttons opposite the lock button is a pain, I'm constantly taking screen shots or opening up the power screen when I try to lock the screen so it would be handy if those buttons were either higher up, or in the same place as every other phone I've owned.

I really, really wanted to like and stick to the Fairphone. I love the idea of sustainability and made in Europe. But unfortunately the most frustrating is the design - the power button and the volume button locations. I was making unnecessary screenshots evey other time I was trying to lock the phone. Also the phone was unlocking it self in the pockets, I made so many butt dials, etc. Also the Android compared to the Samsung OS is underwhelming.

After FP1 (1st edition), FP2 and FP3, I decided to go for FP6.... No regrets.... 😁🙏👍

It's easy to use and even better and more beautiful than my previous Fairphone.

Very happy with this so far, took a while to get used to it after switching form an iPhone, but transferring stuff across seem easy enough and i like the more minimalist approach.

nice (at least until now :) :) telephone migration was enough smooth it is difficult to find some icons / commands, e.g. if you want to see battery status you shall open setting, find the entry and then accessing it

I am sooooo happy I got to buy the Fairphone finally! It works well (it is not the top performer mobile phone in the World, that's not the point!) and it makes me extremely happy because of what it means.

On the whole a great phone, it take great photos, I have used the macro setting which is excellent, not as good at night shots as my partners iPhone but still very good. Very occasionally it will freeze for a few moments (5 to 10 seconds) I'm not sure why. I have the privacy glass on the device but the auto screen brightness doesn't take account of that so the screen can appear darker than it otherwise would. The battery lasts ages, the video playback is very good no lag, the toggle switch on the side can be set to do different things but just focus mode, I have at it to turn my torch on and off and as engineer this is really helpful.

Getting used to it, working well, buttons on opposite sides still tricky. Don't really use the slider. Miss having audio jack, but knew what I was getting, and this as much to do with wireless earbuds as the phone. Happy with it.

The volume-down button is placed exactly where I place my thumb while turning off the phone. Meaning that I have now 100 screenshots of the start screen. Can you remove the screenshot function from this button combination (close+volume down)? If so, how??

Very good phone. Sturdy and functional and very good looking.

The phone is not performing well. There's a fps drop when scrolling down instagram for example. I also had an issue when travelling to the US and the phone gave me a message about a new configuration needing to be installed and the phone had to restart, it then restarted and did the same thing again. It stopped doing that if I put airplane mode on. But you can imagine how annoying it is to be travelling in a foreign country and the phone you were planning to use was useless.

Due to some unexplained issue with the shipping company, this phone was delivered 1.5 weeks later than promised when it was ordered (up to 5 business days). I suspect that this will mean I lose 1.5 weeks of guarantee period (which starts on the date of purchase). The phone seems to work fine though. The positioning of the power button opposite the volume control is inconvenient since using one hand to power the phone off tends to change the volume setting.

After a few years I've bought a new Fairphone. So much better screen and camera than in Fairphone 3! I only miss a screwdriver.

Had my new phone for about a month now and very happy with it. After reading reviews comparing this phone with the current Google pixel I was a little concerned I was downgrading on the camera quality but have been pleasantly surprised,images always come out sharp and copes well in low light conditions. Had to contact customer service initially as didn't receive any notification of delivery to the store I'd arranged, they were very helpful and efficient at resolving my issue.

Nice phone. Screen is great and it performs well. Battery life is phenomenal. Cameras are decent but software lets them down a little. Security updates could do with being more prompt. There are some bugs when unlocking the phone -- sometimes it's unresponsive for ~10 seconds; other times the frame rate drops to ~10 fps. I do hope these issues can be addressed.

Brilliant, sturdy phone. Great to know it's a good cause. Had some trouble sliding the back off the phone when I went to put the finger loop on. But overall, clear and ample instruction videos and I was quickly engrossed in setting everything up. You have to watch the data transfer as it needed constant reapproval but aside from this everything I need is on my phone except my notes, which I hadn't backed up. So that's pretty good. Still finding it a bit annoying that the swipe right function takes you back a page as it's hard to scroll photo carousels (e.g. on Insta) without reloading the page accidentally. Apart from this, everything else is really smooth and so is the finger print unlock which was the worst on my old phone. So easy to use!

Really really enjoying the phone. Everything is perfect except I'm left handed which makes the placement of the fingerprint slightly awkward. Really loving everything else.

The phone is generally good but has some software issues so far. Quite a few glitches and issues with the OS, although very useable still. I find that the yellow slider button is rather weak and flimsy, and is liable to easily become dirty. Cameras are very good, screen is good. I'm just hoping for good software updates to enhance further.

I just upgraded from the Fairphone 3 and the difference is huge. The camera quality is fantastic, the phone works smoothly and the battery lasts for days without recharging

When I chose the product, the software update period was the main attribute for me. Nice and compact phone. Simple and fast OS.

Fairphone 6 — Ethically Made, Repairable, and Surprisingly Capable (Just Wish the Speakers Were Stronger) I had the Fairphone 6 for about 2 weeks now. I am really pleased with it. It is not a flagship, but the ethically sourced and produced phone, combined with the easy repairability outweights the drawbacks in specs (which are not bad either - far from it). However, it falls short in a couple of specific places, that matter dearly to me. First is the audio quality of the speakers, which is in my opinion rather bad. I am an audiophile, but sometimes I will watch a video or listen to something (not necesarily music!) straight from the phone. At max volume, it distorts too much, and at medium is ends up sounding a bit too shallow, with almost no low ends. Combined with the lack of a headphone jack OR an integrated DAC in the usb port (which is sadly only usb2), this results in a phone delivering a rather dissapointing experience when it comes to the audio, for me. An otherwise great device, which I'm looking forward to keeping for many years (thanks replaceable battery!)

Great phone, high quality and good possibility of customization

Much quicker than my old phone and has lots of useful features. Plus I know I'll still able to use it in 5 years time and probably beyond and fix it if part of it breaks. Top notch idea and a great phone.

So far brilliant, so effortless to transfer everything from the old phone lots of capacity and everything ready to use.

I love the concept of a modular phone and have had a previous model for 5 years where I changed components as time went on. The feel of the phone is great, intuitive to use and I like the modular options for accessories, too.

Fairphone 6 has a surprisingly good camera and fantastic sound quality. The battery life is decent, getting me through most of the day. The only annoyances are the occasional lagging and the recurring "unknown caller" issue on phone calls. Despite these minor glitches, I was happy with the phone and the company's commitment to sustainability and repairability. But becasue of call problem I returned it. And the return was a great experience too, soo if you dont know if you want to buy it or not ... try it you can still return it.

Camera stutters as well the performance is weird . The dimming sensor misbehaves all the time. Battery life is mediocre.

Is super quick and snappy. Hardly ever lags. Feels solid and cameras are pretty decent too

My first experience with Fairphone. I've switched from another android device an so far I didn't experience any issue. I hope that Fairphone approach on electronic devices lead other companies to do the same. Next step might be migrating to a degoogled OS but things have to go step by step.

Its a pretty good feeling, mostly well working phone. Some bugs like lock screen freezing, camera freezing/not launching in chat apps. Nothing major, but not something you want out of a new phone. I switched from an iPhone 7 and I hate say, but every time I pick the 7 up, I feel like its the more advanced, sleeker, better photo-taking (daytime), robust phone. BUT Fairphone the company does things that elevate the phone above all others. These are the ethicals you know all about. Given how much the company does right, the occasional ruffness of the end product is very much forgiven. You get used to everything and I will happily keep the Fairphone for the next as many years as possible. After that I feel I'll go back to a smaller phone. Hope the FairPhone 14 will be the size of iPhone 7.

Phone works pretty much flawlessly, and a significant upgrade on my OnePlus 7T. Setup was easy, battery and screen are very impressive and camera performs well. Only minor issue is the screen lag/judder that appears a out 50% of the time when unlocking the phone. Locking and unlocking again fixes this, but it's a bit annoying. Other than that I've had no issues. Battery lasts about 2 days, with 7-8 hours screen on time (120Hz). Main usage is light mobile gaming, web browsing and then calls/messaging - all run fine with no performance problems.

This is a great phone. Took a little of time to get familiar with (had IPhone previously), but enjoying The Fairphone's many clever features. Highly recommend to anyone looking to buy a new phone.

Great phone overall. Only issue I have is with the power button. Because of the fingerprint scanner, it is not covered when the case is on. But this makes it harder to press the button, because of the level difference between the phone and the side of the case. I wish the fingerprint scanner had been kept separate from the button, so this issue could have been avoided. But it's a minor issue and it is possible to get used to. Similar issues could also happen in other types of phones, so I'm still happen to support Fairphone.

It needs some refinement tbh. Missing key Android features and some things are simply buggy and annoying!

Regular android updates, easily repairable, what's not to like!

It's fast, it's light, it's nice. It's to big for my taste, I want a phone that fits in my pocket without trouble. And the big yellow button on the side is going to get stuck on/in stuff and will be the first thing that stops working, is my prediction.

It's a nice phone: practical, well made and it works nicely, although the touch screen could work a little bit better on the edges and the cameras aren't the best of the market (but they do a good job). I find it a good choice if you're searching for a good balance between quality and price and you prioritise de principles.

Nice phone with positive background story. Strangely, unable to connect to WiFi during setup (working fine once in normal mode). Automatic screen brightness adjustment sometimes works incorrectly, somethink I never noticed with other phones.

In general I am very happy. It does everything that I need and I found no issues so far. The only concern that I have is connected to screws of the back panel. I have no idea how many cycles if screwing and unscrewing possible to do. One of the crew already has troubles to get out and then to get in from start. May he it is just me unlucky. Other than that it is great. I hope it will last for next 8 years

The phone is wonderful. Love the colour as well. Love the accessories; very useful! Takes beautiful pictures <3 But I subtract to stars because: - the placement of the volume down button and the on/fingerprint button leed to countless unwanted screenshots. - my phone has no Internet connection when not connected to a WiFi!! Calls and SMS work just fine. The SIM card is the same I used with my old phone, so it's the phone that's broken from the start. :(

Ero indeciso tra tre modelli diversi, ma alla fine il 6gen rispecchia perfettamente l'esigenza per l'uso che faccio del mio telefono con un ottima personalizzazione per quanto riguarda le autorizzazioni ai propri dati, telefono efficiente, prestante e soprattutto sostenibile!

Problems with location, which means it doesn't support important apps such as Bank ID.

Otherwise a good phone, however the phone can't install latest FP updates. How to keep the phone functioning properly for years if it can't install the official updates? The FP Customer Service has not been able to solve the problem.

Needs future parts compatibility with next Fiarphone releases to extend parts availability. A camera is a camera, and a USB port is a USB port, and a screen is a screen. Making them new and incompatible every couple of years seems rather silly. If it is really required sure, break backwards compatibility, but every time you do so justify it.

The way to use is more intuitive, like, the design and weight also improve a lot, I'm very happy with this phone

Two weeks into using the Fairphone now, and I can confidently say that this is a big upgrade over my previous phone (a mid-tier Android that I actually really enjoyed). My biggest concerns about the Fairphone were the cameras and the processor, and both perform exactly as I need them to (as a photographer who edits a lot on my phone). Also happy using it without a case knowing I can buy replacement parts, so the overally feeling of using the phone is really enjoyable. Big fan. Trying to get all my friends and family to switch to Fairphone now.

It is heavier and thicker than expected. In general it seems to be a great phone and all warranties you offer make me really satisfied.

LOVE so much this new generation. Althought I have problems with the placement of the ouside buttons. The ones for the sound should be upper in my opinion as It were in the past.

This phone is performing flawlessly well. Great experience. I saw someone being sceptical about battery life, but it lasts 3 times longer than my old phone. Some nights I choose not to charge it, as there's still 80-90% after using it quite a lot during the day (to my standards at least). This combined with being able to replace all parts, environmental and social sustainability, extra long assurance and a very active support team makes this phone incomparably good.

great hardware, sure... 599€ that's a lot but, honestly for what it offers for the future I prefer to use this phone.

I love this phone. I love it so much its my main phone. I think everyone already knows the positives and negatives. Its pricey in USA, and in EUROPE its not (for someone it could still be). I love the hardware. But we gotta talk about the software, the moments switch works, but the mode itself is pretty unfinished and crashes when selecting a preset. Instead I use the InkOS launcher and i thankfully could remap this key to something else, like DND. I didnt thought i would be saying this because i wanted to like the feature, but it isnt finished yet.

A solid phone that does everything you need with long term support and easy repairability. It also has the benefit that's it's not made at the expense of people or planet.

Absolutely love the look and feel of the device! Pure Android experience is great, but sometimes there is a bit of lag at the unlock screen (I use pattern unlock, not sure if that matters). I also don't love the fact that the DisplayPort support was dropped. Overall, really like the Fairphone (gen. 6).

The product is well-built and I believe they have achieved what they wanted to achieve with this product. I would however urge you to consider that this is using something very close to stock Android. So if you are coming from Sams-ung, for example, there are quite a lot of software features that you won't find here. If you are fine with that then I'm sure you will enjoy the phone. The one thing about the phone that I am a bit disappointed by is the camera. It doesn't produce the quality of photo that I want.

The Fairphone's mission, and its hardware, are both incredibly lovely. The new design is minimal, modern, and timeless. The screen is beautiful, the battery is powerful, lasting multiple days on one charge when running /e/OS in privacy mode. I switched to this phone so that I'd never have to buy another, and I can confidently say I'm happy that the Fairphone is the one I'll be sticking with for as long as I can. They've enabled me to de-google, and to take control of my smartphone use. They made a phone that is aesthetically pleasing, nice to hold in the hand, and is very repairable. I salute you, Fairphone. Great work.

Takes too long to wake up when double tapping, doesn't have assistive touch, buttons are not places strategically and ergonomically, you'll take many unintentional screenshots. Easy to hop in chats when pressing on notifications from lock screen (should be a slide or so...) No notes app, no weather app, documents don't get transfered from other phones only photos and app data,

The main reason I bought it: it is a fair phone (labor, resources, recycle), company has promised long term support and that you can replace parts easily. I used to have a Pixel 6a (battery issue that make me change) and I have a security mindset. This phone is behind pixel one month, from research the rest of brands that provide security updates are also behind one month, I don't like it but for now it is what it is; I hope they can expedite security updates. Phone works well, it is not as heavy as thought. I don't like where the volume buttons are located, I press them by mistake, and even worse that when I press the lock button, which makes me take screenshots (I have read this is a known issue). It is designed for right handed people, the fingerprint sensor is on a right side button. There are some bugs in usability, like screen rotating when auto rotate is off and some mis behaves with some screen touch movements. However I think they will fix them.

Great phone all around. You get what you pay for. No problems so far (2 weeks). Really good screen, surprisingly good video, pretty good photos, the SD storage option is amazing, truly beautiful, hardened and easy to clean exterior. Sound quality is mediocre. Then again, it wasn't advertised as better than that.

nice quality, switch can be configured to "do not disturb". However, one of the major (in my case) functions of the smartphone does not work: "phone as a key" (to a Ford), which is most probably related to the BT issues reported also by others. I submitted detailed "request" on the site but got neither an answer nor a confirmation, so it seems all I can do is to wait for an update...

The battery doesn’t last as long as I expected and charging it is a hassle. I had trouble getting any response from customer service when I reached out for help. The phone didn’t come with a charger, so I had to buy one separately—which feels less environmentally friendly than including one with the phone. Also, I really miss having a headphone jack; since it is not a benefit for the battery

Looks good. Transferring apps and data from my old phone was easy. Looking forward to getting to know it over the next 10 years+!
