By using a system of cobalt credits, 100% of the cobalt used in the battery is matched by cobalt produced under improved working conditions at artisanal and small scale mines. The battery also integrates fair lithium in its supply chain and  contains 100% Fairtrade gold, 100% recycled tin and steel, and 75% recycled plastics. With a capacity of 4200 mAh and 30W fast-charging, they are built to last all day. Plug in the charger, and you’ll get 50% in 20 minutes. Not that you’ll ever worry about your battery running low; you can always swap them out with a spare whenever you want!

    Do not buy a battery unless you absolutely need one. The last thing we want to do is put out more electronic waste in the world. If you are buying a new battery to solve issues related to charging, phone stability, or the phone not switching on, we would recommend reaching out to our customer support desk first. They will be able to confirm if the battery is at fault, or if it is something else that needs to be looked at.   

    On the other hand, if your battery is not holding power like it did, and if your battery is older than two years, then purchasing a new battery is probably the way to go

    My phone doesn't switch on anymore. Will a new battery solve this?

    It would be better to talk to customer support first, before buying a new battery.

    There seems to be a charging issue with my battery. Should I buy a new battery?

    While it could be a battery issue, it could also be something to do with the USB-C port on your Fairphone. Talk to our customer support for more help.

    My phone keeps switching off randomly. Is there a problem with the battery?

    This could be related to a number of other factors. Our customer support desk should be able to help you pinpoint the exact problem.

    My battery doesn't seem to hold charge for as long as it did when I first bought it.

    If your battery is older than two years, chances are it needs to be replaced. Batteries start degrading after two years of continuous use. Reach out to our customer support desk, and they will help you do a battery test.

    My battery is more than two years old and isn't working as well as it did.

    A new battery should solve your issue. Batteries start degrading after two years of continuous use. Purchase a new battery at the soonest, and watch your Fairphone speed up in real time.
